Malaysia/Australia Haul

….And here I was telling myself that I didn't want to spend too much while away. Yes indeed the inevitable post-holiday haul post is here and I'm writing this while trying to fight off the jet lag (and failing might I add, I just fell asleep in the middle of that sentence) as well as the feelings of guilt that come after buying so many beauty products!

Not even 1 hour into my holiday and Daisy Dream by Marc Jacobs was mine but truthfully I have no regrets whatsoever because I had been wanting it anyway and it was much cheaper in the airport. It counts as saving, right?! On the way back I also picked up some goodies from Clarins which, due to the duty-free aspect of the shopping, was overall £10 cheaper than if I had bought them from Boots! I bough the famous Gentle Exfoliator as well as the Pure Melt Cleansing Gel and the lovely sales associate threw in a couple of samples of the Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 'Rosewood'.

Right next to my hotel was an absolutely huge shopping centre which contained an absolutely huge Sephora as well- insert heart-eyed Emoji here! Firstly I would like to applaud myself for being so restrained and not sweeping the shelves clear of Tarte, Marc Jacobs and First Aid Beauty but instead picking up 2- yes you read that right, just 2!- items which I have wanted to try for a while. I got the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush foundation and Airbuki brush, both of which I am very excited to try! In another department store I picked up the Benefit They're Real Push-Up liner because my current one is running out and I was intrigued its unique tip. I've read a lot of mixed reviews about it so I'll be trialling it for a while before writing up my own opinion.
In another huge shopping centre (you can sense a theme here) I found myself staring into a NARS shop and just had to go inside. Again I showed some self restraint and managed to leave having bought only the Radiant Creamy Concealer in 'Custard', after the oxidising disaster that was shade 'Ginger' last year. Fingers crossed it works this time!
I also ventured into Watson's and settled on possibly the most boring item there. Out of all of the shelves of Asian skincare there were, I decided to buy a Clean & Clear face wash- I must have been out of my mind! At least I can comfort myself by adding that it is a face wash which isn't actually available in the UK, right?
While in that part of the world I couldn't leave without picking up a couple of sheet masks! I bought the Watson's Anti-Spot & Sebum Control 3-Step Facial Treatment, which looks really interesting and I can't wait to use, as well as the SNP Real AC-Clear Skin Essence Mask and the Purederm Dark Circle Reducer Eye Patches- phew those were some long names.
I really wasn't expecting to buy a single thing from Australia, having heard that beauty products were a lot more expensive over there, but evidently I caved. However I did only buy things that were either a) not available in the UK or b) (miraculously) cheaper than in the UK.
I bought the Pond's Clear Solutions Acne Expect Facial Scrub for no reason other than intrigue and the NATIO Paw Paw lip balm because how could I go to Australia and not pick up some paw paw-related? I own the original Maybelline Instant Age Rewind and love it but when I saw they had the 'Brightener' shade which we don't have, I just had to buy it! Being a hygiene freak I nabbed two Palmolive hand sanitisers to add to my collection (yes I really do have a mini collection) in 'Fig & Coconut' and 'Raspberry'.
I was struggling between picking the Origins Clear Improvement mask or the Ginzing one but eventually decided on the latter because I don't have, and have never had, anything of the sort. I can imagine that this will be a saviour on mornings where I wake up feeling groggy and tired, giving my skin a real boost. My final beauty purchase of the trip was my first ever MAC brush, the well-known and very popular 217 brush. It wasn't that much cheaper if I'm honest (only about 20p) but I decided to stop beating around the bush and just buy it!
Now excuse me while I go heat up the noodles I'll be living on for the next 3 months.
