Marc Jacobs Remedy Concealer Pen in 'Bright Idea'

Marc Jacobs Remedy Concealer Pen in 'Bright Idea' - $39
My first foray into the luxe Marc Jacobs beauty range has been a positive, albeit expensive, one and I regret absolutely nothing. When asking my sister to pick something up for me on her travels I was overwhelmed by the vast range of products but eventually settled on a type of product I had always wanted to try; a corrector. No matter how much sleep I get I have horribly dark under eye circles which are stubborn and refuse to be covered up. So when I received this I was expecting great things and great things I got.

It has very luxurious packaging (I would expect nothing less from something costing around £23) in a sleek black pen with a click-to-dispense system. I forgot to take a photo but on the back of the pen there's a small slit from which you can see how much product you've used up, something I really love! It has a metal tip which is really cooling and soothing, perfect for under-eye application.

The shade I got - Bright Idea - aims to correct rather than conceal, and so is salmon in tone in order to counteract the blue/purple tones. I apply it straight from the tip then use a makeup sponge to blend it out and the different is unbelievable. Instantly my under-eye circles are brightened and don't need nearly as much concealer (or none if I'm not feeling up to full makeup). The texture isn't too thick or thin making it ideal for under-eye use. It's not drying and doesn't crease like I've found so many others do, making it last all day when set with powder.

The downside to it is the price in conjunction with how much product there is. It's around £23 but only has 0.08 oz (roughly 2.3 ml), meaning it gets used up pretty quickly. For something so expensive I would expect to get a bit more product and would rather have had slightly cheaper packaging and more product to use. Whether I would repurchase really depends on how much worse my under-eye circles get but as for now, I'll continue to use it because the quality is just amazing.

  1. This looks lovely. I’ve never used a corrector before as I always opt for concealer. It would be nice sometimes to have more light weight formula so this kind of thing would be ideal for me. Thanks for sharing! :-) xx
