Dior Addict Lip Glow

Dior Addict Lip Glow - £23.50
I didn't actually buy this product; it was a gift from my dad after searching in the airport for my beloved (now discontinued) Dior Crème de Rose lip balm and coming across this instead. The Dior Addict Lip Glow was never a product which I intended to own, thinking not much of it and seeing it simply as an overpriced lip balm in beautiful packaging. Au contraire, my dear friends, this is so much more than just a lip balm.

This lip balm looks different on everybody, working with the natural chemistry of your lip to enhance its natural colour. It's all down to its Colour Reviver technology - it's all very scientific! - which reacts which the unique pH of your lips to suddenly turn into a pigment, giving a literal your-lips-but-better look. This is a lip balm/lipstick hybrid with all the moisturising properties of a balm but with the sheer colour properties of a lipstick, absolutely perfect for those no makeup days.

As far as the formula goes, it's not the softest on first application. At first it feels a bit waxy but upon using it more it seems to soften up a bit, applying more easily each time. It's not as moisturising as the CDR lip balm but certainly more moisturising than other lip products I've tried.

While a great product that it so versatile in its uses, the off putting element is the price. At just under £24 it's a pretty expensive item to own especially when you're not getting the pigment that you would from, say, an actual Dior lipstick. You can get it slightly cheaper at about £22.50 at Escentual but it's still quite a lot for this kind of product. It really just depends if you want to spend a bit more for the gorgeous packaging and the luxury brand name!

  1. I really wanted to pick up the LE coral version of this but sadly missed the boat. Sephora carries an identical product and I really like it.
