Urban Decay Eyeshadow Duo in 'Sin/Mushroom' - bought in a gift set |
It comes in the shades Sin and Mushroom, Sin being in the Naked palettes already. If I were to be picking shades separately, I wouldn't have dreamt of picking these colours but now that I have them, I'm really glad that I do!
You can see from the swatch above just how creamy and pigmented they are- that was with just one swipe! The two colours look absolutely beautiful together, whenever I wear it I get complimented.
Sin is really nice to wear alone on the lid but a bit of Mushroom in the crease just deepens the look and makes it a bit more evening appropriate. I'm definitely not the type of person who can pull of a smokey eye, which means the dark nature of Mushroom would certainly put me off. However, I have found it surprisingly easy to work with and incorporate into my routine. Sin may look a bit too pinky but when contrasted with Mushroom they balance out perfectly and just make for a truly beautiful eye look.
If you're having doubts, don't! Darker colours don't always mean smokey eyes, they can be blended to look somewhat natural. I would definitely recommend picking up any of the shadows from the UD line (my first choice wold be Half Baked) as they're such great quality and they don't really need a primer but if you're pedantic about that kind of thing it doesn't hurt to have some extra insurance.
I love the quality of UD eyeshadows - these two look great.
