Empties #2

Due to my hoarding of empty products, there is now an entire drawer in my room full of empty bottles/pots. So without further ado, my empties!

The products I go through the fastest are haircare products, obviously shampoo runs out very quickly because of how often I have to use them. For some reason, I have literally about 5/6 bottles of the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette shampoo and conditioner in my bathroom cupboard, all because of a phase my sister went through. We now use it only about once a week, but it's a very moisturising shampoo which enhances the (natural) colour of my hair. I will continue to use it, primarily because I have enough of it to last me a lifetime but also because I do like it.

Then is the Batiste Dry Shampoo in 'Blush'. This smells lovely and floral, as well as helping to keep any slight greasiness at bay.

I originally bought the L'Oreal Elvive Triple Resist Reinforcing shampoo (well, that was a mouthful!) because of it's incredibly smell, and then the strengthening properties were a bonus. To be honest, I didn't find it to help with hair fall-out at all and it made my hair get greasier faster, so I wouldn't repurchase this.

I have a dinky little travel size of Head & Shoulders Classic Clean shampoo which is just a good shampoo for when you're on holiday a want to freshen your hair, leaving it really clean.

Finally is my favourite shampoo ever, Organix Moroccan Argan Oil, smelling amazing, moisturising and taming frizz- the whole nine yards.

Next are skincare products, which I don't seem to go through nearly as quickly. I finished up the Boots Skin Clear Deep Cleansing Lotion, a product which I just found in a cupboard while clearing out and decided to start using again. I wouldn't use this on a daily basis, just when I felt like my skin need a little more cleansing after I washed my face, and it really did work. I need to pick up another one of these once some of my other products are all used up.

I had a sample size of Clinique's All About Eyes eye cream, claiming to reduce dark circles and puffy bags. I didn't find it to do anything other than take an age to sink it. It took so long to absorb and it didn't reduce my dark circles at all.

I have the duo of Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Eye Gel and Facial Moisturiser. I must confess, following a review I did of these a few months ago (HERE) my opinion has changed. The eye gel did diddly squat for me, although it was quite refreshing in the mornings (refreshing won't get rid of under eye circles!) and the moisturising felt quite tacky after applying it, just as it always had.

OK, I know that face wipes are a beauty blogger's enemy but I must admit I sometimes use them- not alone, mind you, with a cleanser too- when I'm too tired to use a proper makeup remover. I finished a Johnshon's Oil Balancing Facial Cleansing Wipes which did nothing to balance the oil on my face and while claiming that it can remove makeup, it was too itchy to do so.

I also finished Yes to Cucumbers Facial Cleansing Towelettes, with the refreshing cucumber smell and great makeup removing ability.

Not the most glamorous of topics, but deodorant is an essential! As you can probably tell I use quite a lot of Dove products, starting with their Go Fresh Pomegranate antiperspirant spray, smelling amazing and keeping odour at bay, already have another on my shelf!

Then I have the Maximum Protection deodorant, which is one of the twist-up cream formulas, which smells really fresh and again, does what a deodorant is meant to do.

When I was in New York I picked up the Go Fresh Plum and Sakura Blossom deodorant. I have to begin by saying this smells DIVINE. I wish it were available to buy in the UK because it smells incredible!

Finally is the Sure Mineral Fresh antiperspirant. I really didn't like this, the 48 hour claim is absolutely ludicrous because I didn't find this to last for even 2 hours! Also, upon application the spray just travels through the entire room and made me choke, drying up my throat- a very disappointing product.

Beauty products take so long to run out because I only really wear makeup on the weekends and even then only if I'm going to be leaving the house. I have 3 nail polishes, one of the old Sephora nail polishes in a gold colour (no name was on the bottle), a Topshop one in 'Big Smoke', which was a really beautiful colour but after a few years it got too gloopy to use. Then I have the Barry M 3-in-1 Basecoat, Topcoat and Nail Hardener which, again, just got too gloopy to use, but when it wasn't gloopy it was a really good product.

I have a couple of lip balms, one pomegranate one from Burt's Bees which I didn't really like very much, the smell was a little weird and it wasn't very moisturising. Then I have Vaseline which I didn't actually finish but I'm throwing away because of the greasiness.

Lastly I have the small size of the Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer, which I would definitely repurchase once I'm out of my current primer.

Finally I have a couple of perfumes, Ed Hardy Eau de Parfum. This smells beautiful but I'm not going to repurchase because it's very sweet and floral, not really my type of scent any more. Then I have the Narciso Rodriguez perfume and oh my this is incredible. One spritz of this and you smell so elegant and sophisticated, it's such an amazing scent.

And to end this post I have my Bath and Body Works Market Peach candle, which I was burning every evening in the summer. It smells really fresh and I'm sad to say goodbye to it, and I'm also upset because I couldn't burn it to the bottom- the little metal part at the bottom just ended before I could finish it.

So that was a very long post (well done to those of you who stayed on until the end) and I hope these mini reviews helped!
